Mahube explores restructuring options

The energy infrastructure company is looking for ways to grow its asset and capital base.

Mahube Infrastructure's shares rose on Monday after it said it was exploring a range of options to restructure its business. The company said the end objective was to enable it to grow its asset and capital base.

Mahube, formerly, GAIA Infrastructure Capital, owns five renewable energy assets. These include two wind farms and three solar photovoltaic (PV) farms, all of which are currently in operation, generating electricity which they sell to Eskom in accordance with 20-year power purchase agreements.

Mahube's shares rose 5% to R5.25 in thin trade on Monday.
