  • Accelerex, the Nigerian fintech firm, has received a US$20 million investment from Africa Capital Alliance's Capital Alliance Private equity IV fund. This investment makes the makes a strategic partner in Accelerex and they will hold three seats on the board.
  • Autocheck, the Nigerian automotive tech company, has raised US$3,4 million in pre-seed funding. The round was co-led by TLCom Capital and 4DX Ventures and included a number of local angel and seed investors.
  • Wuilt, an Egyptian website builder, has raised US$535 000 from MENA Technology Fund, DAAL VC, prominent angel investors in the MENA region plus follow-on funding from Flat6Labs Cairo.
  • Enygma Ventures, the US venture capital fund, has invested R9,2 million in Eswatini's Black Mamba Foods. The speciality food producer will use the funding to upscale its business.
  • TalentQL, the Nigerian recruitment startup, which was launched this month, has raised US$300 000 in pre-seed funding. The funding round was led by Zedcrest Capital and included local investors Kola Aina and Prosper Otemuyiwa.
  • A new biopharmaceutical platform, created by Development Partners International (DPI), through its ADP III Fund, CDC Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invested US$250 million to acquire Egypt's Adwia Pharmaceuticals and Indian oncology and critical-care product specialist Celon Laboratories .
  • Kleeve & Tove, has acquired 100% of Ghana's asset management and wealth management firm, NDK Capital for an undisclosed amount.
  • DOB Equity, the Dutch family-backed impact investor, has made a further investment in Nairobi-based plastic recycling business, Mr Green Africa, which is now venturing into waste-tech. The value of the investment was not disclosed
  • The IFC and the International Development Association's Private Sector Window, have announced a loan of up to €8,92 million (equivalent in XOF), to Carriéres et Chaux du Mali, to help the company increase production of agricultural lime and quicklime.
  • Sote, the Kenyan supply chain company, has raised a US$3 million seed round, led largely by MaC Venture Capital with participation from other investors including Acceleprise, Backstage Capital, Future Africa and Rob Solomon (Chairman of GoFundMe).
  • BOC Gases Nigeria PLC, has advised shareholders that, BOC Holdings, it's 60% majority shareholder, has entered into an agreement with TY Holdings for the purchase by TY of BOC's entire stake in the Nigerian firm.
